Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence: Theory and Applications
About this masterclass
This masterclass will train students in theory and applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. The course will provide theoretical foundation of basic concepts in machine learning and artificial intelligence. The course will also provide hands-on implementation of standard networks and techniques used in the field. The students will be provided with Ipython notebooks to interactively modify the codes and see the results as they go along in the lecture or at their own time after the lecture.
This masterclass will focus on:
- Familiarize students with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Present a quick introduction of main techniques in ML and AI.
- Which techniques work well for which type of problems? How to choose the right technique for the problem at hand?
- ML and AI in physical and biological sciences: Present few relevant examples from NeurIPS 2019 workshop on Machine Learning and the Physical Sciences.
*Students must select a group, either A or B.
