Description
Science and technology have great potential for solving local and global issues. In order to contribute effectively to social debates, decision making it is critical that scientists be able to convey their research in meaningful or moving way for a general audience. This communication gap can prevent important scientific advances from reaching target audiences and inspiring positive change. By teaching young scientists to be compelling communicators, we can inspire the next generation, not just to inform a general audience about KAUST research, but also to engage the viewers in a memorable way.
KAUST students learned how to produce short videos using their phone and inexpensive accessories over a four day workshop at WEP 2018. Come along to see the videos they produced about an aspect of their own work or life at KAUST or that of other KAUST researchers or community members.
Prizes will be announced for winning teams in the following categories.
- Best overall video
- Best story
- People's choice (with live voting)
- Women in science
