Klungbot, A Robot That Plays Angklung
Angklung is a traditional musical instrument made from bamboo that UNESCO acknowledged as Indonesia's cultural heritage in 2010. Recently, a group from the Department of Engineering Physics, Bandung Institut of Technology, led by Dr. Eko Mursito have developed a robot that can play a set of angklungs named ‘Klungbot’.
In this 2-day workshop:
Participants will learn about human-gesture recognition for Klungbot. At the end of this event, there will be a chance to win three sets of Microsoft Kinect!
Participants need to register to the two sessions. The booking limit for this workshop is 20 people. Make sure you register on time!

Eko Budi
In 2010 Dr. Eko Mursito built a Klungbot with his students and in collaboration with local artists. The Klungbot integrates the wonderful tradiational Indonesian angklung musical instrument with modern robotic and digital music technology. Dr. Eko with his Klungbot was elected as the champion of Research and Development of INAICTA 2011 and won several national and regional innovation competitions. Mursito Budi is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at the Institut of Technology, Bandung, Indonesia
