Description
Make it or Break it: Industry Research Teams in the Age of Intelligent Systems
In this lecture, A.I. researcher Luis Sarmento, will be focusing on a special type of research teams that are being created across the industry: Data Science Teams.
Luis will describe what they are, what they are not (e.g. not an engineering team) and what are the main missions that they try to accomplish. Furthermore, he will talk about how the teams can help companies set their product strategy, and how they can act tactically on the terrain as “assault troops” and as force multipliers for the broader team.
He will also talk about how these teams are developing and refining their own working methodologies and how these methodologies differ from to the ones established during the 2000’s. Finally, Luis will conclude with notes on how companies can best leverage these Data Science Teams, and approach product design in new ways.
