Description
Challenge yourself and design a block of the City of the future!
Everyone at KAUST is invited to enroll to this design challenge masterclass, where 10 teams will go through thinking, designing and rapidly prototyping the City of the Future.
In this masterclass led by ‘d.heritage 2 tech’, you will learn the principles of the designer’s methodology as a creative problem-solving strategy. In the design of an innovative City of the Future we will integrate sustainability and innovative technological concepts, such as: being fully autonomous, using renewable solar/wind/marine energy, implementing water desalination and re-use technologies, cooling towers, organic/hybrid solar cells, smart windows, alternative bio fuels, clean energy supply schemes, hydroponic gardens, aquaculture, salt resistant agriculture, full recycling, etc.
About this masterclass
This 4 hours /2 days (Monday and Tuesday) masterclass is designed for a total of 40 participants (10 teams with 4 participants each). Each team will be responsible for a unique urban block within our City of the Future. The teams will be mixed in academic years and diversity of backgrounds.
