Description
Intellectual Property (IP) in the digital age is rapidly expanding as we demand better, faster, and cheaper technologies due to fast-paced innovation in personal and professional development. This course aims at enriching and broadening the knowledge and the experience of graduate students and the larger community on the critical topic of IP, by providing a practical training opportunity to enhance their understanding of IP, its importance and opportunities, and IP challenges and issues that may affect research and innovation in all fields. The course will consider IP issues related to Connectivity as the vehicle to cover based IP concepts related to Trade Secrets, Copyright, Trademarks, and Patents.
Mardson Mcquay
Mardson McQuay is Associate General Counsel and Senior IP Attorney at KAUST. He is a former tenured professor of Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University and Senior VP and Chief IP Counsel at CGG, France. He also spent four years as an Associate in a law firm and five years as a Senior IP attorney at GE. He has been an invited lecturer on the topic of IP all over the world.
