Description
You might be surprised to see how easy it is for cyber criminals to use the information you publicly disclose on sites such as Facebook and Twitter to gain access to your private items such as bank accounts and medical records. In this lecture, you will be walked through the online profile of a fictional victim of online fraud and see how online profiles can leak all the information that a criminal needs to steal your identity. Our lecture concludes with tips on what you can do to protect yourself online while still enjoying a rich social media experience. This lighthearted lecture with a serious theme is open to the entire community. This will be a part of our Brown Bag Lecture Series. A light lunch will be provided.Kevin Sale
