The lecture describes the trend and importance of wastewater reuse globally and in the Arab region in to satisfy the rapid growth in water demands and to overcome the problem of water scarcity and shortages under especially under arid. Then, the long term growth in population and water demands for different purposes in KSA will be outlined. The present and future potential water supply scenarios to achieve sustainable water and food security for the growing demands in the Kingdom will be defined including the reuse of treated effluents. Then, the drivers, pillars and the types of needs to build a successful wastewater reuse market in KSA are explained with concluding remarks.Walid Abderrahman
